For centuries Memphis was the sole capital of Egypt until at the beginning of the New Kingdom. Today, visitors can admire, in particular, the Clossal statue of king Rameses II sculpted in one block of stone and originally around 10 meter high, and an alabaster sphinx and it might belong to Ramses the second too. The main God of Memphis was Patah the patron of the craftsmen.

Its real height is 147 m but after lose 11 m from its height it became 136m now. The middle pyramids of Khefren is smaller than the pyramid of Cheops with its height 143.5 m and the only one than still having the remaining of the outer casing of the fine limestone .The smallest pyramid of king Mykerinus with height of 66 m, but must have been extremely beautiful as it was once coated with pink granite.
