Catacombs Tour
Catacombs (Kom El shoqafa ) is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the middle Ages. The necropolis consists of a series of Alexandrian tombs, statues and archaeological objects of the Pharaohnic funeral cult with Hellenistic and early Imperial Roman influences, A circular staircase, which was often used to transport deceased bodies down the middle of it, leads down into the tombs that were tunneled into the bedrock during the age of the Antonine emperors (2nd century AD).
Pompey’s Pillar Tour
Pompey’s Pillar”, a Roman triumphal column, is one of the best-known ancient monuments still standing in Alexandria today. It is located on Alexandria’s ancient acropolis—a modest hill located adjacent to the city’s Arab cemetery—and was originally part of a temple colonnade. Lunch meal will be served at a local restaurant in Alexandria.
Qaitbay Fortress Tour:
The most important defensive strongholds in Alexandria is Qaitbay Citadel, established in 1477 AD by Sultan Sayf ad-Din Qa’it Bay. The Citadel is situated on the eastern side of the northern tip of Pharos Island at the mouth of the Eastern harbor. It was erected on the exact site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria.
Alexandria Library Tour
Alexandria Library, the largest and most significant great library of the ancient world. It flourished under the patronage of the Ptolemaic dynasty and functioned as a major center of scholarship from its construction in the 3rd century BC until the Roman conquest of Egypt in 30 BC, The first known library of its kind to gather a serious collection of books from beyond its country’s borders, the Library at Alexandria was charged with collecting all the world’s knowledge.
Montazah Palace Tour:
Montazah Palace, was built on a low plateau east of central Alexandria overlooking a beach on the Mediterranean Sea. it’s composed of many buildings of which Haramlec was the most important built by King Fouad I in 1932, as a summer palace. It is in a mixture of Turkish and Florentine styles. Drive back to Cairo with direct transfer to your Cairo hotel (end of Alexandria day trip)
